Standing Longer= Living Longer


How standing might be the best anti-ageing technique – Telegraph.

Wow, this was an interesting article!  Science now shows that standing for longer periods throughout the day may actually lengthen your life!  Think about the millions of people who sit driving to work, sit at a desk all day then drive home- only to sit at the dinner table and spend the rest of the evening sitting on the couch.  For the first time in human history, we are sitting an incredibly large part of our life.

This research reports that standing for long periods of time has a similar effect on our body as exercise.  A controlled study found that while exercise certainly is beneficial- the most detrimental factor to our health is HOW LONG WE SIT EACH DAY.  Consider how many hours you sit each day and what changes you might make to increase your “standing time”.
