The Top 5 Regrets People Have When Faced With Death

Nurse reveals the top 5 regrets people make on their deathbed.

A nurse in palliative care (Hospice) reported five regrets people tended to voice before dying.  They are listed in the article above.  If you want a life that has fewer regrets and is more fulfilling; you can have it.  It simply requires some self-reflection and a desire to make changes where necessary.  Choosing a life that is more fulfilling, will not only impact you, it will also create a life that is more fulfilling to others around you.  It’s a win-win situation.

1.  Be true to yourself and honor at least some of your dreams.  Do you want to visit the Grand Canyon or Europe?  Make a plan- while you still are in good health.

2.  Work less.  At the end of your life, you will be happy you spent those extra hours with your family in the evening, versus working late to impress some boss.

3.  Express your feelings honestly.  It will either improve your relationship with people or end your relationship with people- people who only add stress to your life.  Either way, its a good thing.

4.  Keep in touch with your friends.  We all need close relationships with friends (non-family members).  It adds something special to our lives.  Don’t let your friendships fall to the way-side.  Call up that friend you haven’t spoken to in months (or years) and catch up.  You’ll be glad you did.

5.  Choose to be happy.  Don’t be fearful and be open to change.  Laugh out loud and don’t take life so seriously.
