Iconic Anti-smoking Advocate Dies

Iconic anti-smoking advocate Terrie Hall dies | Fox News.

Terrie Hall, who was in a number of anti-smoking campaign advertisements, died this week in N.C. at age 53 from cancer. She began smoking in high school and continued until her 40’s. She has reportedly helped save thousands of lives (of people who have stopped smoking due to her commercials). The link above tells her story, but also has a video with a collection of anti-smoking commercials put out by the CDC. These are worth showing your older children or students as you educate them about the harms of smoking. It is known that smoking causes immediate damage to the body (in some form) and likewise, that stopping smoking has immediate health benefits.
