Top Risk Factors for Stroke

Stroke: Risk factors –

About five years ago, when my father was around 65, he had a stroke. He went from living independent, to having a feeding tube and living in a nursing home. Thankfully, his feeding tube was later removed. He had a history of high blood pressure and didn’t make the best choices concerning his health.

For many, a stroke can be prevented if you watch what you eat, exercise frequently and manage your blood pressure and cholesterol levels. For others, it may be very difficult to avoid- as in having a family history (in my father’s case). If you are curious about the risk factors for stroke, see this list from the Mayo Clinic.
